Thomas Bartelemy Cardon was one of Cache Valley's leading businessmen, owning a hotel, a photo studio, and a jewelry store. He was Italian, and came to Utah with his parents, who were Waldensian converts. He joined the army at Camp Floyd and later fought in the Civil War on the Federal side.
